Antonio Paolucci the texts of the catalog |
Roberto Demarchi Church of S. Maria del Popolo, Rome 4 December 2008 – 6 January 2009 The exhibition “Genesis of the World and Genesis of Art” is a reflection on the concept of “Creation”. In theology, it is “The Divine Spirit as a dynamic presence of God himself that intervenes to bring about the passage from primordial chaos to the cosmos” (Romano Penna) In existentialism, what is closest to the idea of Creation is Art “man who, in the wonderful and mysterious dimension of art, is himself a Creator” (Antonio Paulucci) The “Genesis of the World” is without doubt an extraordinary exhibition, the texts in the catalogue by Prof. Paulucci (as always with insightful interpretation) and Prof. Givone are masterful. I feel they elucidate the overall sense of his work and provide the best possible way of introducing us to his figurative adventure, so fervent and at the same time so strict as to be almost inflexible in pursuing an unequivocal aim”. (Claudio Strinati) “Facing the double theme of the Genesis of the World and of the Genesis of Art is a task that would scare even the bravest person. You have managed to produce a new, modern key to interpreting these two themes. Looking at your work I was literally enriched”. (Marco Bussagli) |
